Master Esthetics Case Study from California Advanced Esthetics

This course has been designed to improve students’ skills in advanced esthetics for both a spa and a clinical setting.

Master Esthetics Diploma is awarded to the students who have successfully demonstrated their mastery of advanced esthetics, advanced skincare treatments, and products knowledge through five Supervised and Guided Case Studies addressing these skin conditions (the same client may exhibit one or a few of these conditions):

1. Acne;

2. Acne Scarring;

3. Pigmentation;

4. Fine Lines and Wrinkles;

5. Sagging or Aging Skin.

REQUIREMENTS

Some practical and theoretical knowledge of advanced treatments and modalities such as Microdermabrasion, Advanced Chemical Peels, Advanced Facials, and Skin Lightening is required. This knowledge could have been gained through previous work experience or from the advanced courses taken at California Advanced Esthetics or other esthetic schools.

(Prior to enrollment in this course the level of knowledge will be tested through an enrollment exam)

COURSE OUTLINE

• Over the period of 12 – 15 weeks (dependent on the set goals and client needs) students will perform advanced treatments on real clients to address such skin conditions as Acne, Acne Scarring, Pigmentation, Fine Lines, and Wrinkles, Sagging or Aging Skin;

• All the treatments and selection of protocols will be supervised by the instructor and discussed with the student in order to enhance and deepen their understanding, uncover knowledge gaps and help the student become more confident in customizing the treatments;

• Sanitation controls, professional integrity, and quality work habits will be addressed as well;

• Upon the completion of the case study, the student will submit the results in a summary of the treatments performed along with the before and after photos. Results and potential improvements will be discussed with the instructor and other master esthetics students.
